Thursday, September 9 A group from Redeemer will be serving lunch to the homeless at 15 Place with the Loaves and Fish program. This is a great ministry to help with if you work in the downtown area. If you would like to help this month, please contact Jerry Corker (476-6511).
The Episcopal Campus Ministry group will meet in Room 181 in the University of South Alabama library at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be provided. All college age persons (regardless of student status) are invited.
Service Dog Handlers training will be held in the common room from 6:00-7:30 p.m. (private).
Friday, September 10 HOGs lunch at El Giro at 2518 Government Blvd. Folks gather at 11:15 and order at 11:30.
Saturday, September 11 The St. Francis Guild will be distributing dog food and cat litter donated through the Humane Society from 1:00-3:00 p.m. If you are aware of any folks from low-income households who struggle to be able to feed their pets, please tell them about this giveaway.
This month's Supper Club will be hosted by Bill and Suzonne Trufant at their home. If you would like to attend but haven't received a phone call or e-mail about the supper, please contact Suzonne at 895-0568. Everyone is welcome to join in this fun way to get to know other Redeemer members.

This week’s photographer (Jennifer Jones) will be in the parish house for about an hour after both services to take pictures of donations for Episcomall.
There will be a meeting in the parish hall at 11:30 a.m. for those planning to attend our Tudor Christmas Feast on December 17th. There will be discussion and information about costumes (patterns, seamstresses, Goodwill options) and table hosts (duties, ideas for decorating, etc.).
The Redeemer Environmental Stewardship Team will meet at 11:45 a.m. in the green classroom in the parish house. On the agenda: planting for the fall and cooperative food buying.
Please attend the Art Reception in the common room from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and meet our current artists - Mary Rodning and Derald Eastman.
Monday, September 13 The Building Use committee meeting has been cancelled.
The Outreach committee will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the library.
Tuesday, September 14 AA meeting in the common room, 10:00 - 12:00 (closed).
The Rector’s book study will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the common room to continue discussion of the book Leaving Church by Barbara Brown Taylor. Everyone is invited to participate. Please read through Part 1 for this meeting.
The Vestry will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the common room.

Looking Further Ahead Vestry nominations for the 2011-2014 term are now open. There are nomination forms on the table in the narthex, or see one of the nominating committee members: Rob Ashby, Ginger Bolter or Peter Kingsford. Nominations will close on Thursday, October 14.
There are sign-up lists on the bulletin board for the Habitat Interfaith Build workday (September 18) and the IHN/Family Promise week (September 19-26). Please sign up to help as you are able. You may also reply to this e-mail and we will be happy to write your name on the list(s). There are plenty of openings on both lists.
And if you think September has been busy...October is going to be HUGE at the church, so mark your calendars now:
Also, please make note of an important date in November: our annual parish meeting will be held on Sunday, November 14 at 11:45 a.m.
Other Information Ray+ will be attending clergy conference at Camp Beckwith beginning Sunday afternoon and returning Tuesday, September 14. Please call Coleman Inge for pastoral emergencies (607-7975) and Ginger Bolter (661-9214) or Lella Lowe (455-5073) for all other issues.
There will be a reception honoring Susan Downing-White at Gallery 54 (54 Upham St., Mobile) on Sunday, September 12, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Her show is entitled “Weather Changes & Recent Events: New Gulf Coast Landscapes”. Raffle tickets will go on sale soon for a portrait painted by Susan, with proceeds to benefit the ministries of Redeemer.
We are preparing to send out a bulk mailing to 2,500 households and could use some help stapling, folding, taping and labeling the mail. If you are willing to take some of the mail home to work on, please reply to this e-mail and let us know.

Green Tip of the Week: Pay as many of your bills online as you can. This helps with the amount of paper that is sent out and eventually just thrown away. Many of the bills can also be put on paperless billing where they will send you your bill through email, saving even more paper.
